This place is worth the trip out to Put-In-Bay. Got a new jet ski, rode the 1 hour it took to get out to the island on it and this was our first place to go. The pizza is probably the best on earth imo. The pizza sauce isn't too sweet nor too bitter, they load the cheese on for free. We had pepperoni and sausage as that's our favorite toppings and my boyfriend couldn't stop going on and on about how it was the best he's tasted in a while. We will definitely make this a "must go" stop every time we hit the island.

I forgot this place. Pizza is decent, atmosphere and service are great! The dough is a bit mediocre, but the abundance of sauce and cheese makes up for it.

I was fine with Frosty's until I checked my bank statement...Apparently, anytime you use a credit card there, you will automatically get charged $25 or more for gratuity regardless of what you order. We bought a corona and a mixed drink (which was in the most tiny plastic cup ever!) and it came to $8.50. I gave the bartender a $3 tip, which should've come to $11.50 right? When I got home, I was charged $25. When we looked up their website, there's a section that explains that people get overcharged 20% for gratuity. Thanks for letting me know assholes! 20% of $8.50 is $1.70. No wonder they've been in business for so long...they're raping people of their money.

Frosty's is a nice place for drinks. The new patio area is beautiful and very well done. Be warned that their pizza is just a step above frozen. They do not make their own crust, instead using the cardboard variety. I guess that is why they put way too much cheese on their pies to make up for it. Their working staff is great, considering that there is a big girl there, who I think is the owner's daughter, that treats them like crap in front of the customers. Real classy! I guess she is jealous because everyone that works there is better looking than her. Can't comment on the breakfast or the Mexican food, but the rest is very, very average.

Frosty's is a bar.reataurant that probably has one of the better breakfasts on the island. They open early for the few early birds out their and they have some very cheap brekfast specials. Their biscuits and gravy are some of the better ones that I have had. The line is usually very long to get in here but they turn their tables very quickly and you do not have to wait too long so don't let the line scare you. The bar is not your typical dance club that most of the island bars are on the island. It is more of a pub type place that i prefer to go to anyway. Like most dirnking establishments on the island this place can get packed.

After a hot day of watching women cavort topless on the flybridge of their old man's boat out in the harbor, head on into Frosty for a chilled mug full of uncomplicated, ice cold beer. Also get the pizza. Actually, this is sort of a must here in Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island, in the middle of Lake Erie. I think they check your breath for Frosty beer esthers and your shirt for pizza sauce stains before they let you back on the ferry to the mainland.

Fantastic service, atmosphere, and food all-round! Had a good time with the friends in the PM and enjoyed the breakfast in the AM. Bars like Frosty's make this Island great!

This is a great go-to spot for the over 30 crowd and to avoid DB's. Service is quick from the bartenders and they make great frozen drinks! Pizza is darn good and grab a 1lb burrito out back. You won't be dissapointed!

I'm sorry, but Big Man's burritos suck. And I had the unfortunate experience of going here twice (once for a snack, another time because almost all other restaurants stop serving around 9:30 and I was forced again to return. So I had the understuffed, underwhelming burrito the first time, and cold, unheated, ridiculously nasty nachos the second time. Who serves nachos and doesn't melt the cheese on top? Or the meat lukewarm? I have never been drunk enough to call this palatable, nevermind the possible code violations on this under heated food. Shame on you!

Cool place! Just had drinks, but my husband got a glass to bring home! Fun place that is on the main boulevard and kind of overlooks the water. Great bar!

This bar will give you what you want, provided you realize that you're on Put-In Bay in the 21st century. Seriously, these reviews are hilarious. You got one guy saying there's too many strollers, another person complains that it's not family friendly. You got some people talking about the pizza being awesome, and some people saying it's not as good as it was when they were kids even though it's been the same recipe for 30 years outside of that one time they changed the tomato provider. At the end of the day, this spot provides a little bit of everything (in a good way) and I think that's why the reviews are so silly. Here's what you get: Great service -- I've never met a rude or inattentive employee at this spot. Best breakfast in town -- works well for the hungover folks and families. You'll get a solid meal for every type of person. Bar pizza -- old-school bar pizza that does the trick when you need lots of cheese in your system. This isn't fast food pizza hut style, and it's not that quality fancy oven pizzaria that offers $20 medium pizzas. This is a delicious pile of cheese, sauce, pizza grease, and chewy with little-flavor crust. It's good, especially if you're doing the PIB spring break forever party. If you don't want bar pizza, go to Cameo. Now that I'm officially celiac, I'm sad I can't eat this stuff anymore. Burritos -- this is the closest you'll get to a Chipotle on the island. In fact, I think it's better in some ways because it has a ton more options and the serving size is freaking massive. You can feed three people with these things and they taste damn good. Music -- they have DJs that keep things pumped up at night. I actually heard some decent mixing and digital spinning one night. Where some places are giving you radio jock voices between changing CDs, Frosty's gets some good DJs. Drinks -- They got beer, wine, the hard stuff, mixed stuff, etc... It's all there. They even have a gluten free beer option. If you can't the right drink here, you're probably not going to find it on the island at all. One last thing: everywhere on the island ramps down their stock towards the end of the season. If you go to Frosty's or any other spot on PIB in August and September, you're options will dwindle. You might find that some beers or food options just aren't available. That's because these guys have to close down shop for the fall and winter. There's no way around it. Make sure you plan your trip and expectations accordingly.

Cold beer, friendly bartenders and enjoyable live music. We stopped in for a couple drinks and had a quick snack. Will definitely go back the next time we are on the island.

Frosty Bar is a multi-faced beast. Part one is the pizza parlor. Frosty pizza, while a classic, is pretty terrible. The cheese and sauce are decent but the crust is cardboard. Part two is the Burrito stand. Big man burrito stand is excellent! The burritos are delicious and are one of the best food to cost ratios on the island. They also serve great breakfast burritos! Part three is the morning bar/breakfast scene. Weekdays are nice and quiet with good service and no wait. Weekends are a hell hole. If you manage a table within an hour your doing well. Service is slow and the place is so over crowded its tough to move. Part four is the day time bar scene. Weekdays and weekends this bar during the day is great! Prices are average and service is friendly. Whether lounging outside on the awesome patio or shooting pool inside its a good time. Lastly part five, the nighttime bar. I used to frequent Frosty at night and have a great time. Back then we called it Frosty. Now we call is CLUB FROSTY. Laser light shows blasting music with a rather unsavory attendance makes Frosty now a place we avoid at night. In conclusion, weekday breakfast, burritos, and day time bar scene make frosty not a complete loss.

Good ol' frostys!! PIB's main pizza place with everything! The pizza's are pretty good here for island food. You can easily split between 2-3 people. If you want to have a drink after the bar/dance floor is right next door. They are know for their large frosty beer mugs. They pretty much have all the basics on draft. We always change our pizza up at this place.....they can handle just about anything. Great service and the wait is minimal. If you are in PIB you will defiantly be a frostys-at least once! PS huge patio out back!

Note: I only came here for a drink, didn't eat food. Note: I would never come back. My mom and I visited PIB for the wine fesival last weekend and decided to have a drink before we took the ferry back to the "Main land". We sat a table waiting for a waitress and we waited and we waited and we waited. No waitress. So, I went to the bar to get a couple of beers. There was literally a bartender standing across the bar from me, but he was completely obvlious to the fact I wanted a drink. After I raised my arrms a few time and asked for help, he was willing to oblige. I asked what beers were from Ohio and he gave me a bottle of Mt. Carmel (excellent, by the way). I asked for two of the same, but they didn't have two of the same, so I got one IPA and one amber beer. I asked for two glasses, which seemed to bother the bartender. I will say, I'm glad I did, they were nice and ice cold! I then noticed the caps on the bottles were not screw tops and were not opened. I then had to flag down another bartender to get them to open them. The place is a dive, but I'm sure on weekends when it's full of drunks listening to music and dancing. If I were 10 years younger, I would be doing that.... There are plenty of places to eat and drink on PIB and I would not come back to Frosty's.

The best cheese and grease on the island. I love the pizza. Lots of cheese. ... lots of grease. Maybe you shouldn't eat there if you have heart trouble.

My favorite place (other than Heineman's wine garden) at PIB! Yes, it gets loud, big deal, it's a bar. I love it for the atmosphere, the yummy pizza, the cheap (for the island) pitchers of PBR, and the friendly barmaids.

After all these years, Frosty's is still one of my favorite places on the island for its unchanged atmosphere, still great drinks, food and service. They have now added onto the building in recent years by putting a "Backyard" bar that is truly a relaxing place with patio chairs, shade from the sun and large wraparound bar. There is also "Big Man's Burrito Stand" out back, that I heard many locals say is a great place to chow down, but I didn't have time to sample myself. Frosty's is famous for it's food, too. Handmade Italian foods from pastas, pizza, subs and such for lunch and dinner. They also serve KILLER breakfasts. I love that they leave the pot of coffee for you, plus a large glass bottle of water so you can refill on your own to wash away the previous night's lasting effects. One special they had for breakfast was pulled pork on hash browns with 2 eggs for 10 bucks that was out of this world good. Service was very quick and friendly and I was full until dinner! During the weekends and nights, they have a few arcade games inside, one pool table and plenty of beers on tap, still served in Frosty's signature stemmed glass served ice cold. They have a new jukebox that you can operate with an app on your smartphone as well, which I've not seen before. Nice selection of items from the gift shop, too, including a Frosty's glass to have at your own house. You just can't go wrong with this place. It's been an island favorite for decades and they're still doing everything right.

We ate breakfast on the restaurant side of Frosty's but didn't have enough time during our stay on the island to check out the bar. Looked fun and was always crowded but I can't say for sure. There is now an outdoor bar in the back and a burrito stand that smelled amazing when I walked out back to check it out but it was raining so we didn't get to try that out either! On to the breakfast.. french toast is my favorite food group but I wasn't all that impressed with the cinnamon french toast. It was a bit boring and the syrup was runny. I like thick and fatty syrup personally. The french toast does not come with any side items but you can add a meat side if that's something you are interested in. They have a large breakfast platter that has eggs, toast, hash browns, and meat side and my parents both really liked that. It was a lot of food for a decent price. I also sampled a blueberry pancake. It was just so-so. Tasted very pancake-mixy to me. Kind of like Bisquick, which is fine, but not really the pancake density I was craving at the time. I like how they leave a pot of coffee at your table so you on't have to keep flagging the waiter down for a refill. They also keep just about everything you need at the table, like a giant bowl of coffee creamers, huge container of syrup, napkin dispenser, and a carafe of water. I would have liked to have had a pizza and some brews but I will have to come back again another time!

Great place to stop in for a drink. They had Lake Erie Monster, a great choice. Seemed like a good option for Put In Bay. We didn't eat there, just liquid nutrition.

Frosty Bar can be summed up by 3 high points~ historic atmosphere, nice selection of craft beer on tap, & good service. Pizza isn't what everyone raves about, it's okay but when your drinking on the island it becomes great. A must go to bar/restaurant on PiB.

Pizza is soso but this institution of PIB is a must stop. Grab a beer and a pic or two and thank me later...

This is one of those places where you're put off before you even walk in the door. The door girl was really crabby. You couldn't move in here. Not a bad thing for Frosty's but bad for me and my sanity. Drinks were served in dixie cups but you paid for pints. Not heavy on the alcohol either. I did notice they had a decent beer selection. And they should since they have a beer mug as their logo. I wanted to try the pizza since everyone raves about it. We never had the chance. Sucky atmosphere with a frat boy crowd. Not fun.

We came here on Saturday to have a few beers and catch the Oregon/Michigan St game. Now, I fully realize Put-in-Bay is in the state of Ohio, but the fact that they refused to put the MSU/Oregon game on ONE of their 20 TVs for 8 guys there for a bachelor party was absolutely ridiculous. Put-in-Bay is a tourist destination and a smart business would cater to tourist dollars - of which we had plenty to spend. Our request wasn't unreasonable considering it was the biggest game on in the country that night. The waitress was very polite about it and explained to it that it was a management decision (we even offered her $20 to put it on one TV!). So we left and spent our money at a bar that was much more accomodating to its customers and put on the game they wanted to watch. Too bad for Frosty's, because we dropped a ton of money that night. Frosty's is a nice bar with good service, but their management should realize that plenty of people from outside of the state of Ohio like to visit Put-in-Bay, drink beer and watch football.

Great place, sort of divey, but in a good way! Breakfast at Frosty is amazing -- pancakes for days! The new(er) outdoor bar is a great place to hang out when it's nice out. Pizza, subs, and burritos are on the menu; no table service, you just order and they buzz you to come pick up your food. Glasses are frosted (thus the namesake), and they have the best Bloody Mary's on the island!

  • John T.

The coldest beer, but crappiest pizza on the island. Come for the beer and the cherries, have dinner elsewhere. What happened to this place? It used to be a nice divey bar. But today, there were families and strollers in the barroom. It's PIB, it's not supposed to be family friendly.

  • Charmony P.

My favorite island tradition. They make a pizza that really hits the spot after a few drinks, the old building is charming and really feels like its dull of some history. The crazy paint job on the walls tell a weird story too. Yes its family friendly, there's a separate room for the restaurant but they're welcome to meander in and out of the main bar. The staff is excellent, the bathrooms are fine. There's even an outdoor section out back if you want yo enjoy the weather. This place is a mandatory stop every time I visit

  • Matthew J.

Frosty's is a great hang especially if you are out with a group for a good time. I'm not much for the nightclub scene but they do offer food and outdoor patio separate from the "nightclub". Frosty's is a cool spot but beware, if you are looking for a lower key evening you may want to try somewhere else. Needless to say, there is a fair amount of drinking going on. Crowds can also be a concern, that being said, I never had an issue being served. If you do go, grab some Walking Nachos from the order window on the patio before you leave. A culinary sinful way to end the night.

  • Meghann T.

Best pizza place, ever. Hands down. The service is speedy, and it connects to the Frosty bar, which is a staple in my good Put In Bay memories (that I can remember). It's overpriced, so what. You're on Put In Bay! Indulge! Full bar, AND they open early for breakfast (pancakes and Bloody Mary's, whaaaaat!) The Buffalo Chicken Ranch pizza is my favorite - give it a try!

  • Kate B.

Pretty much a dive bar-very hot-dirty bathroom and crazy customers-I heard the skankiest conversation in the ladies' room that would make a sailor blush. Pizza is thick, chewy crust with tons of cheese smothering the toppings. Salad was good, but it's so loud in there that you'd be better off getting your pizza to go!

  • Katlin M.

Frosty's equals Put-in-Bay for me, until recently. As a child, I remember we would go over to the island for the day, do all the family activities like the monument and the caves and then we would go to Frosty's before we hopped on the Jet Express to head back home. Well this time, we decided to hit up the well-known location for lunch on the first day we were on the island. Well, their pizza use to be cheesy, thick crusted, and epic in tastiness (and calorie count). Now, the pizza literally tasted like one of those microwavable brands and half of our group got a stomach ache. Out of the three pizzas we ordered, maybe a total of one was completely consumed. This was not a one-time occurrence either. Upon further research (aka asking people around the island and family members) we realized that within the last year the pizza has gone down hill. Luckily, that is not the only thing that Frosty's is good for. It so just happens to be a bar, which most people on the island are looking for anyways. Half of Frosty's is the pizza place and the other side has an indoor bar that goes from jukebox chill drinking during the day to full on dance floor and rave at night. But alas, patios win me over every time. Frosty's now has an outdoor patio complete with a large bar, chairs, and tables. AND what tops the patio off is they have a Big Man's Burrito stand in the back. This selection and food completely makes up for their complete bomb of pizza (sorry for being tough). You basically get to choose the toppings you want and if you want it in the form of tacos, burrito, nachos, salad, etc. But be careful some of the toppings are an "extra" cost and you won't find out until you get rung up. So Frosty's my nostalgic feelings towards you will keep me coming back--- but only to the good half!

Over a 3 day visit to Put-in-Bay, we came to Frosty... 3 times. The 1st night was all about dancing and having a good time. The DJs were friendly and played just about any song that we requested and their might have been a bit of dancing on the bar to celebrate one of the bar staff's birthday. The 2nd night was all about Halloween and pizza. One of those in our group really wanted the pizza so we got 2 - BBQ and another one that I can't quite remember. They were both spicy and had so many toppings that the crust could barely hold them. It was great drinking food! The 3rd day was a stop for lunch. They serve typical bar food and the crowd still seemed pretty large.

This place was CLUTCH. Our rental didn't have ESPN, and the NBA playoffs were on. Every other bar on Delaware Ave. had a DJ and some loud music and the ones that didn't have loud ass music weren't serving food. So where is a sports fan to go? The bar side here is connected to the dining side which is great for taking a breather or fueling up with some food for a long night of drinking. Also, this is the place of one of the better breakfasts on the island. My night had the game on a big screen TV, a pretty delicious pepperoni pizza, and a pitcher of beer. And the best part? It wasn't overpriced like the rest of the Avenue. This was a great night up until the police department threatened to tow my golf cart so i ended up leaving early.

Used to be my favorite place to go on the island. The pizza has gone downhill however. That being said it is a great place to go for fun times and to meet great people.

Frosty Bar is alright. I don't really like any of the bars that I have ever been to on the strip, this one is tolerable.

My third summer visit to Catawba Island. Frosty's has become the perfect go-to for lunch with a crowd of hungry children and adults after a refreshing boat ride. There's always a bit of a jostle to find table to push together, but the crowd is friendly. Of course, you have to get the peanuts and throw the shells on the ground. Frosted glasses for the beer- I mean, the place is called Frosty's!

  • Tyler B.

Ah Frostys. In between the pseudo upscale bars and oonce oonce dance clubs, you stand as a somewhat shady hole in the wall with oh-so-delicious pizza. Photo hunt machine? Check. Smaller contingent of d-bag fratholes? Check. A place that feels more like a local neighborhood bar than a cash whore designed to fleece tourists of their money? You bet. I can't think of a better place at PIB to get a good base of pizza in your belly before a long days drunk - something that's worth its weight in gold at a place like Put-in-Bay.

  • Heather A.

This place is laid out quite nicely. On one half of the place you have the eatery and the other half is the pub/music half. I had heard about that pizza from the moment I arrived on the island and it didn't disappoint. If you're with a group, prepare to order several larges though as they are quite small. If you're a cheese pizza lover, you'll be in heaven. If you are watching your caloric intake, you won't be. We also had breakfast there one morning. I believe they stop serving at 11 AM and if you get there around 10 like we did, prepare to wait forever. The line was nearly out the door when we arrived as this is only 1 of 2 places on the island that serves a hot breakfast (as far as I know). Like the pizza, it didn't disappoint either.
